Created during the Covid-19 pandemic, this work examines the administrative quantification of loss. The piece originated from an automated HR bereavement form—a digital interface attempting to process personal grief through the rigid architecture of drop-down menus, radio buttons, and a “Submit” command.
Screenshots of the form were collaged with children’s dinosaur colouring pages, juxtaposing the sterile management of a modern crisis with a ubiquitous cultural symbol of mass extinction reduced to a childhood distraction. The book was completed collaboratively within the home.
